Local advisors enable Blundells to go Countrywide
A team led by John Warner and David Forrest from multi-award winning firm BHP Corporate Finance acted as lead advisors to Blundells. Legal advice to Blundells was provided by Keeble Hawson, with the team led by Paul Trudgill and Paul Goel.
Completion of the deal represented a highly successful conclusion to strategic-level discussions between the firms. As Blundells’ managing director, Steve Hinshelwood explained: “We have been in active discussions regarding a potential collaboration with Countrywide for about a year. We felt the time was right, the approach was right and firmly believe the deal is right for all parties”.
Mr Hinshelwood was also keen to praise the roles played by his advisors on the transaction: “We have benefited enormously from having first class, experienced advisors at our side. BHP have been trusted advisors throughout the Blundells journey and our experience of them on this deal makes it easy to see why BHP Corporate Finance wins so many awards. Keeble Hawson were also a tremendous support to us throughout and the two firms worked together seamlessly. They do this sort of thing every day of the week, whereas we do it only once in a lifetime.”
Following the deal, the business will continue to trade under the Blundells brand and will continue to be led by the existing management team. Mr Hinshelwood said that the strength and breadth of Countrywide’s services and infrastructure will “enable us to continue to expand and diversify what is already a highly successful business and brand”.
